Work With Us
SPS regularly hosts students on internship from reputed institutions like Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Institute of Rural Management, Anand, Tata Institute for Social Sciences, Mumbai, GB Pant Social Science Institute, Allahabad etc. These students come and spend time at SPS as part of their coursework.
They participate in various field activities of SPS and also conduct their own research and evaluation studies of the programmes of the NGO. This year, SPS is hosting two students from the Centre for the Advanced Study of India (CASI), University of Pennsylvania, USA. SPS is also in dialogue with the Penn School of Engineering and the network Engineers Without Borders (EWB) for hosting engineering students for a longer period who will address specific problems of the area like water shortage, poor drinking water quality, agricultural waste recycling and rural energy to find innovative solutions.
In addition to providing a window for dialogue with the faculty and students of these reputed institutions, SPS sees these internships as an opportunity to inspire the younger generation to dedicate time to the rural areas and to take the challenge of rural development poverty alleviation seriously. SPS also sees these students as a possible pool from which it could draw personnel to be deployed in its own programmes.
