Community Video Production

These are films made by local youth on issues directly related to their lives. They are used as a tool to share best practices, new ideas through testimonies by the farmers themselves or by the programme extension worker or an expert. These films are shown to small audience of 15 to 20 farmers through hand held projectors. It’s a close-knit, interactive sessions of film viewing in the village huts.

A village extension worker called Mitaan – a friend, mediates the screening where the opinion, queries and even demand of the audience are recorded in a prescribed feedback form. A follow up takes place based on the feedback.

Film topics range from soil enrichment activities, use of soil moisture, seed variety, effective sowing pattern, preparation and use of bio-pesticides, SHG collective agendas, MGNREGA entitlements and campaigns, dairying benefits, cattle care, etc.
